FC Porto

FC Porto has officially activated the purchase option for Jakub Kiwior, securing the Polish defender on a permanent deal. The Portuguese club announced on Tuesday that it will pay Arsenal €17 million to acquire 100% of the player’s economic rights, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons based on performance. Kiwior has signed a four-year contract running through June 2030, and his release clause has been set at €70 million.

The 26-year-old center-back joined Porto on loan from Arsenal at the start of the season, with the Portuguese side paying €2 million for the temporary move. According to the club’s official statement, Arsenal will retain a fixed €2 million sell-on clause in any future transfer.

Kiwior’s transfer fee makes him the seventh most expensive signing in FC Porto’s history. If all variables agreed with Arsenal are met, the Poland international would rise to second place on that list. Since arriving at the Dragão, Kiwior has made 38 official appearances for the club, recording two assists but no goals. He has been a key figure in Francesco Farioli’s squad, which recently clinched the Liga Portugal title.
