Shakira is set to deliver the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada this summer. The track, titled “Dai, Dai,” marks the Colombian superstar’s return to the global football stage.
At 49 years old, Shakira previously performed the iconic World Cup anthem “Waka Waka” for the 2010 tournament in South Africa. That song became a global hit and is still closely associated with the event.
Interestingly, the 2010 World Cup was also where Spain claimed their first—and so far only—world title. During that tournament, Shakira’s relationship with then-Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué blossomed, further linking her to the world of football.
The 2026 edition will be the second time Shakira lends her voice to an official FIFA World Cup song. Fans around the world are already anticipating the release of “Dai, Dai” as the tournament approaches.
