**5A Regionals (Game 2)**
**Pleasant Grove 10, Fremont 6**
No. 19 Pleasant Grove mounted a late rally to secure a 10-6 win over No. 14 Fremont in Game 2 of the 5A Regionals best-of-3 series, forcing a decisive third game later in the day. Allyson Young finished 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, while Lillian Whiting also went 3-for-4, driving in five runs. Pleasant Grove scored three runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth to erase Fremont’s early 3-1 lead, which they had built after the second inning.
**Wasatch 14, Olympus 12**
No. 16 Wasatch edged out No. 17 Olympus 14-12 to win the best-of-3 series, advancing to next week’s 5A Super Regionals after a thrilling comeback. Payton Sunland went 3-for-3 with one RBI, while Brylee Smith was 3-for-4, including a triple, home run, and two RBIs. Olympus fought back with six runs in the sixth inning, featuring a home run from Charlotte Comer, but Wasatch responded with two runs in the seventh to seal a 2-0 series sweep.
**Hillcrest 18, Woods Cross 7**
Bailey Terry starred with a 3-for-3 performance, five RBIs, four runs scored, and two home runs, leading No. 9 Hillcrest to an 18-7 victory over No. 24 Woods Cross in the best-of-3 series. The Huskies jumped ahead 7-1 in the first inning and put the game away with an eight-run fourth inning. Hillcrest won the series 2-0 to move on to the 5A Super Regionals.
**Payson 15, West 0**
No. 13 Payson blanked No. 20 West 15-0 in Game 2, securing a 2-0 series victory and a spot in the 5A Super Regionals. Payson built an early lead with four runs in both the first and second innings, then exploded for seven runs in the third to put the game out of reach. Pitcher Ella Watkins struck out four, while Mahaila Buys hit a home run and drove in one run.
**Bountiful 12, West Jordan 8**
No. 12 Bountiful defeated No. 21 West Jordan 12-8 in Game 2, completing a series sweep. West Jordan took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, but Bountiful answered with a six-run fourth inning to take control. Peyton Orchard went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Dylan Carpenter earned the win, striking out four.
**Cyprus 7, Alta 5**
No. 15 Cyprus held off No. 18 Alta 7-5 in Game 2 to clinch the best-of-3 series and advance to the Super Regionals. Despite a late rally by Alta, which scored four runs in the seventh inning, Cyprus managed to keep the lead throughout. Abagail Hurtado was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, while Sydney Shore and Viu Hosea each added a home run to power the Pirates to a 2-0 series win, eliminating Alta.
**Taylorsville 5, Northridge 2**
Aleya Wegner struck out six batters, and Demi Miller drove in two runs as No. 10 Taylorsville beat No. 23 Northridge 5-2 in a 5A Regionals matchup. Taylorsville broke a tie with two runs in the sixth inning. Gracie Butte had two RBIs for Northridge, but it wasn’t enough. The Warriors advanced to the 5A Super Regionals with a 2-0 series sweep.
**Hunter 17, Kearns 2**
No. 11 Hunter dominated No. 22 Kearns 17-2 in Game 2, winning the best-of-3 series 2-0 and moving on to the 5A Super Regionals. Hunter erupted for five runs in the first inning and nine more in the second. Alexa Olsen contributed two doubles and two RBIs, while Sydni Miller and Izabella Mailo each hit a home run. Loi
