Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique did not win the Ligue 1 Coach of the Season award this year. According to the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP), the honor went to 47-year-old Pierre Sage, who leads Lens.
In the final voting, Sage outperformed Luis Enrique (PSG), Paulo Fonseca (Lyon), Bruno Genesio (Lille), and Olivier Pantaloni (Lorient). Under Sage’s guidance, Lens has collected 67 points from 32 matches and currently sits in second place in Ligue 1. PSG, managed by Luis Enrique, tops the table with 73 points from the same number of games.
The postponed match of the 29th round between Lens and PSG is scheduled for May 13. Lens’ strong campaign under Sage has been a standout story this season, with the team showing resilience and tactical discipline throughout the league.
